On Tuesday evening October 8th was our annual AGM and quite a few interested snowmobilers were in attendance. One of our biggest news item for this year is the club name change to better reflect the entire area that our club covers. We will now be known as
West Carleton Mississippi Mills Snowmobile Club Inc.
Our next big project is getting an up to date Landowner Use Permission from every landowner that our trail is on.The OFSC is telling us that this has to be done. Anyone who can give us a hand with this please contact the club it would be very much appreciated.
Finally the bad news is that 3 board members have stepped down.
1st Ron Anderchek who after many years of being on the board and the past 3 as Vice President has stepped down
Ron has done a tremendous pile of work for this club from doing his own section of trail and plus also managing all the  A01 forms which have to be completed before any trail can be opened plus also managing all our raffle tickets which is well over 1000 tickets.Ron was there to help in any way he could and he will be surely missed and hard to replace.
Mark Hatfield who has been our Administrator for the past number of years is also stepping down. Mark has done a great job for the club and was always ready with something funny for us to lighten the mood of the meeting.
He will stay on to manage our social media sites. Thanks Mark for your what you have done for the club and are continuing to do.
Stuart Williamson has been with us a short time on the board but he took on the job of lead of our Trail Patrol which is very important for the club to be an ambassador for snowmobiling to answer any questions sledders have out on the trail. Eg. sledders who are looking for the proper trail to take to get to their destination whether it be a town, restaurant or a place to stay overnight.
Thanks Stuart for your help in this role.
The good news is we have 2 new board members and a veteran member has stepped up to be Vice President Kinburn’s own Kyle Fierens is our new Vice President and will do a great job. Thanks Kyle for taking on this position
Mitch Osborne is a new board member and also has taken on the role of Risk Management.Mitch has been attending our meetings for the past year and has stepped up to help the club. Thanks Mitch for joining and helping out
Ed Hoskins has joined the board and will be our new administrator. Thanks Ed for doing this and being part of the board.
Although she is not a board member Cheryl Robinson along with the trail work she does will be taking over the position of managing all the A01 forms.
Thanks Cheryl for agreeing to help in this position
The club has a small group of dedicated volunteers and we desperately need more sledders to step up and get involved especially for trail work. This club has over 250 Km of trail to maintain and many volunteers are needed to keep them open every year so if you want to help the club and keep all of our trails open please just contact anyone of us
Let’s continue to keep this club and all our trails thriving
Steve Burgess
President
